ABOUT REBECCA
South Mountain Justice of the Peace
My "tenacious" mentality was molded by my WWII Veteran Grandfather who taught me that no matter how tough things get, you cannot give up in the face of adversity. As I've gone through life, I've held onto this thinking as obstacle after obstacle has appeared and as I've fought to make my community a better place.
My time as an elected official has been nothing short of a privilege. I was first elected to the State House of Representatives in 1995 at the age of 27, making me one of the youngest to ever be elected. From the onset, my priorities have always been to craft meaningful legislation that focuses to fund education in our state, increasing access to healthcare options, and creating a business atmosphere that protects our working families.
Through hard work and commitment to Democratic principles, I was elected by my colleagues to represent them as the House Minority Leader in 2016 and then-Senate Minority Leader in 2020. Under my leadership, we were able to invest over $1 Billion into education for our children, protect voters' right to vote from Republicans, and ensure that Medicare and Medicaid were not dismantled.
After finishing this last term as Minority Leader in the Arizona State Senate, I am now seeking your vote to become the next South Mountain Justice of the Peace.
